Cornmint Esennetial Oil
Cornmint Essential oil fragrance is very minty in aroma and menthol-like
Steam distilled cornmint essential oil can contain up to 80 per cent of menthol.
Most cornmint oil is fractionated (dementholized) to minimize the large percentage of menthol. The resulting dementholized oil is therefore not commonly used in holistic aromatherapy.
In aromatherapy Peppermint Essential Oil is most commonly used.
However Cornmint can be a practical replacement for Peppermint Essential Oil in applications for fragrance and soap making due to its lower cost.
Cornmint Essential Oil is passed off as Peppermint Oil so be careful where to get your oil from.
